I started this piece with sheet music and a photo of a cat that looked deeply unimpressed. The idea grew into a metaphor about artists pouring themselves into their work… sometimes desperately… sometimes theatrically… and often into a void that feels indifferent.

I wanted the music to feel like it was bleeding, like effort and emotion spilling out, and the paper roses to feel like offerings. The cat is not moved. And honestly… sometimes neither is the world.
